Time to Watch
As the macroeconomy corrected in 2022, a new theme emerged: Ensure anyone using Loom was aware of the high value we were providing. My team was also focused on reducing consumption burden.

I conceptualized and designed a feature that showed the actual time it takes to watch a video at a faster speed. At launch, the feature defaulted to a 1.2x view speed.
Time to Watch went to GA in early Q4 2022. It led to a 5% increase in web video views. Users also changed speeds less frequently than before, meaning we not only increased discoverability of the speed change feature, we moved closer to the average default view speed.

Follow a Loom
Our users felt like their conversations were fragmented across multiple platforms. One reason users chose not to comment in Loom is that they frequently missed comments left after they left the page. Now, users have a choice to follow any new comments and receive notifications.
Follow went to GA in Q4 2022. Of Looms that were followed, ~20% resulted in a net new notification to a viewer. Approximately 3% of Looms are unfollowed within ~10 seconds.

Better Loom unfurls in Slack with video blocks
When Slack released new functionality for their Blocks API, we were able to extend more value to our customers in their daily tool stack.
By displaying additional metadata and actions, users could now interact and engage with Looms without having to travel to Loom.com to do so.
Over 40k+ Slack workspaces have this app installed. Nearly 20k+ Looms are unfurled every day with these new features.

Quick Record
My first project when I arrived to Loom. The team previously experimented with an easy access record button in the Chrome extension, to enable power users recording many times a day.
The data showed that up to ~50% of Looms were recorded without a cam bubble, and I hypothesized that granting easier access to more recording types would allow for a variety of workflows. We also knew that people were turning off the previous experiment on websites where recording a Loom wasn't as relevant. With that data, we made it easier to customize the location of the new Quick Record entry.
Quick Record led to a 135% increase in new recordings, and a 71.3% increase of recordings with a VFV (video first view). GA in Q3 2022.
